Brothers In Arms 2: Global Front

The replayability of Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front is quite high; there is multiplayer in this game, which adds it all together with achievements, and you will always be wanting to play an online game with others. Though there are no friends lists, or chat of any kind, which may take away from the experience. And since some maps are quite small, the match turns into a spawning kill fest. Unless you are on the upper hand, some of the multiplayer game modes may not be for you. But what is great is that if you are joining an online match, it tells which mode is going to be played. This is a great, basic feature that is useful for people that prefer one game mode over another. Overall, Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front is a great game for the campaign, and mutliplayer. But if you go deeper, the game is really massive! A great game for a pretty steep price; if there is a sale happening, get on that, since to me, $7.99 is a bit too steep.

Introduction

Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front is the sequel to the hit game Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes [LITE VERSION] that was released in July of 2009. But there are a bit of differences in this sequel; the game is an FPS, which means the controls are quite different. There is also better multiplayer, and a smooth campaign. Short introduction for this review, but that is mainly because this game is so massive!

Sound

The sounds of Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front are really well done. The sounds of the gun vary, and all sound unique. The voice acting is good enough to add to the experience. The grenade sounds are not really that good, but the gun sounds and voice acting really make up for it. Great sounds used here!

Graphics

The graphics used in the game are…..alright. The landscapes and level sets, draw distances are great. But the gun models some how take the effect out. Could it be too much just to add a little bit of detail to the lower detailed guns? There are some guns or weapons, however, that have some detail into them. (The flamethrower is a good example of a detailed weapon). Even through these few lower detailed gun models, the levels of the campaign and multiplayer really make up for it.

Controls

The controls of Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front are just the controls of Modern Combat Sandstorm [LITE VERSION] and N.O.V.A., but they seem to be a bit more choppy. I would find myself trying to aim, then press the fire button too often or when I was firing and trying to move, it would stop both actions, and in multiplayer, every shot counts. The controls are the same for the campaign and multiplayer, which may not sound important, but it could change things if people like a certain scheme of controls. Just like in the Call of Duty games, you are able to run. Though you cannot shoot while running, you do get to move quicker, and often unnoticed by the AI computers in the campaign. But while you run, you must always hear your characters hard breathing, which can get quite annoying at times. You can line your sights and get more accurate shooting, and can crouch and jump, and it works out well. These controls could be worked out, but maybe they are not for everyone.

Brothers In Arms 2: Global Front costs $7.99 USD, but compared to when Brothers In Arms: Hours of Heroes was first released, it was $9.99, however, Brothers In Arms: Hours of Heroes is $4.99 as of now. Gameloft has released a new trailer for their upcoming Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front, which is a sequel to Gameloft‘s Brothers In Arms: Hour of Heroes [LITE/FREE Version]. Now, something interesting Gameloft has done with Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front is that they have announced the exact release date. Gameloft normally doesn’t do this, they only say what month the game will be released in. Another thing is, that Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front is a FPS (first person shooter), unlike Brothers In Arms: Hour of Heroes [LITE/FREE Version] which is a TPS (third person shooter). The released date of Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front is February 22nd, 2010 which is next Monday. Now, most likely Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front will be $6.99. Gameloft has also released a trailer their upcoming game Rayman which appears to be based off of Rayman 2 for Nintendo 64 (N64). PocketFullOfApps will let you know when Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front is released and possibly even a review will be posted too.
