‘Froad’ launches on iOS!

YoYo Games, the leading portal for user-generated game content, is pleased to announce that Froad, the latest game to be built using YoYo Games‘ GameMaker platform, has launched today for iOS.

In Froad, players take control of an amphibian character called Froad, who is named this way because nobody can tell if he is a frog or a toad. Froad is a survival game where players must catch as many bugs as possible, as requested by Froad himself, to see how many days they can help him survive. If players catch the wrong bug or a bad bug, such as a Bee or a Wasp, Froad’s health will deteriorate until his hunger bar is empty, at which point the game will end.

Froad contains two insect-filled worlds for players to take on, the Forest and the Pond, containing a variety of different bugs dependent on the location. Each world will cycle between day and night which will bring different varieties of creepy-crawlies for Froad to munch through, but it will also bring new dangers for Froad to avoid.

Original Soundtrack of ‘Ant Raid’ Released for FREE!

Prank Ltd, an independent game developer and publisher, has announced the launch of original soundtrack of Ant Raid [iPad] available for free to download!

Metacritic named Ant Raid as the 8th best iPad game of 2011 and currently the game holds the all-time number one spot of iOS strategy games with its Metascore of 90 out of 100. As a celebration to the success and due to the widespread praise of the game’s upbeat music, the company has decided to provide the entire soundtrack for free of charge.

Originally the game was released exclusively for iPad on July of 2011, and on January of 2012 a new version for iPhone and iPod Touch followed. Additionally, Prank published free versions of the game for both iPad and iPhone, featuring 10 unique levels. The original soundtrack of Ant Raid can now be downloaded from the game’s official website right here.

‘Dark Incursion’ drops to $0.99 and adds Support for Joypad and iCade!

Look at what we have here — Big Blue Bubble has announced the newest version of the epic side-scroller, Dark Incursion, now with iCade and Joypad support is now live on iTunes!

Dark Incursion is a side scrolling “Metroidvania” style game with a vivid steam punk art style using eye-popping pixel art combined with the stereoscopic 3D that will literally make the action jump off the screen. It takes place in an alternate reality in the late 1800′s, amidst an industrial revolution and a world war. Play as Anya, one of the few who knows about a secret bunker where scientists have been attempting to bioengineer their own soldiers, hoping to turn the tide in war!

In Dark Incursion, players have a multitude of bio-engineered weapons at their disposal with which to eradicate the abominations from the city. Weapon and ability upgrades will get more powerful the deeper players get and the more advanced the monsters become. New features include:

‘Mini Motor Racing LITE’ Released, Android version coming Soon

Heads up folks — The Binary Mill has announced new ways to get in the action of Mini Motor Racing. First off, players can save 50%, bringing the price for iPhone and iPod Touch to $0.99 (regularly $1.99) and for iPad to $1.99 (regularly $3.99) for a limited time only. Along with that, Mini Motor Racing has a free trial version available for download as well.

Mini Motor Racing loads vehicles reminiscent of your favorite micro racers with an impressive array of nitro-fueled features: fully upgradeable cars, day and night races in various weather conditions on 20 different tracks with multiplayer support for up to 4 racers. The game features crisp, colorful high resolution visuals, flexible car control settings, in depth car upgrade paths, a choice between 4 different default vehicle types (sports, hatch, big-rig and pick-up) and a series of race-circuit cups for the lengthy single player campaign to go along with multiplayer. If you haven’t heard the news yet — Paper Monsters from Crescent Moon Games has been released onto the App Store for a mere $0.99. Rather than me list all the reasons you should buy Paper Monsters, I’ll list the reasons why you shouldn’t buy this game. So, after a few hours of playing Paper Monsters, I’ve found no reasons as to why you shouldn’t buy this game. Simple as that.

Don’t have Siri? Use Evi.

Looks like Siri has some competition now thanks to Evi from True Knowledge. While it may not be as convenient as simply holding down the home button like when you start up Siri, Evi is a separate app, however, True Knowledge said the app contains “almost a billion facts”. Evi also uses the same voice recognition software as Siri, Nuance, and is why the app costs $0.99 which is sill a small fee to pay for a very useful app.
