Bird Smash Pro is an extremely addictive and very good looking game where you play as a pig, using motion controls to move it right and left and use any of the wide variety of weapons you have to hit and destroy different types of robotic birds trying to kill you first. Positives

Bird Smash Pro is full of good stuff. The best thing is the graphics — with Retina Display support they are really crisp, clear and appealing. BirdSmash has awesome and colorful particle explosions as well, which makes the game so much more fun.

The controls are awesome too — turn your iDevice to move your pig left and right and touch on the screen to shoot at the direction your pointing. You have a variety of 4 weapons and an ability to fling birds around. Three of them are limited while the ‘Kuni’ has unlimited ammunition — and can be useful when you finish all other weapons. The weapons include a Kuni, Super Kuni, Missle, Ballistic missle, and the ability called ‘Force’ which lets you move birds around and throw them here and there in order to deplete their health.

There are many different types of birds for you to destroy. Also, there is wind that will change the direction of your projectiles, so there is a wind sock to help you with that. Another awesome and quite fun feature is the ability of the application to scan your contacts (after you giving it permission) and give the birds names from your contacts! That’s right, if you have a contact named ‘Aaron Whitfield’ some of the birds are going to be called ‘Aaron’. You can also upgrade your weapons by using collected eggs, which is your currency.

Negatives

Well…I tried and tried. But couldn’t find anything that I didn’t like.

Botton Line

BirdSmash is an awesome, addictive, good-looking, fun, and awesome arcade game, that could be the best in its genre! The graphics are excellent and appealing, the controls are great, and the gameplay is simple amazing. The upgradable weapons and the contact names feature give this game points too! BirdSmash gets a rating of 5/5.

Just like Infinity Blade and a few other games out on the App Store — BizangoBlast is an Unreal Engine 3 title and is really one of the most gorgeous games out there. It could be called a fully 3D Angry Birds-type of game, but other than the main theme behind it, it doesn’t resemble Angry Birds, in fact, you may like it better than Angry Birds. BizangoBlast is not a pick up ‘n play game, but instead a fully 3D, Unreal Engine powered looking masterpiece. What you do is easy to understand, you control your cannon (i.e. make it aim up, down, left, and right) and then fire one of your limited shots per level, in order to hit the towers thus causing you to earn points. Positives

As you may have figured out, BizangoBlast is an extremely good-looking game. The graphics are cartoonish and the colors are really crisp as well. In addition to that, the environment is really awesome and good-looking too. The background music and sound effects are nice while gameplay overall is engaging and really appealing.

Negatives

BizangoBlast is one of those games for which you can’t think of many negative things. The only thing I found difficult was the aiming strategy — an update released recently made it much better but it still is slightly difficult to know where your fireball is going to hit.

Bottom Line

BizangoBlast is a great game and I strongly recommend it to those Angry Birds fans who have gotten bored with it and are looking for a great new challenge. BizangoBlast costs only $0.99, which is actually cheap for a game powered by such an awesome gaming engine.

Vermes on Mars is a simple yet fun game, where you control your vehicles around mars, defending yourself from the ‘Vermes’ and fighting them as well, so you can advance to the next of the many levels it has. The theme is that there are valuable minerals on the planet Mars, so we send unmanned vehicles to extract it, but on arrival, we greeted by unwanted and unexpected guests. Positives

Vermes on Mars is a good game that can be put under the pickup ‘n play genre. Whenever you feel bored and have some time to give to your iPhone, this is one of those you will play. It has neat graphics that support the Retina Display. One of the main features of the game are its sound effects and background music. The music fits the game well, and provides a fun experience while you play the game, adding to its positives. The fun sound effects also add to this.

Negatives

One thing that I didn’t like that much were the controls. You tap on a side of the screen to switch to moving your vehicle and you tap on the other to switch to firing weapons. In weapons mode, you tap where you want to shoot, while in movement mode you draw a trail. Most of the times I forget which mode I’m in thus I end up tapping both sides of the screen to make sure I’m on the mode I need and till that time the Vermes attack and I lose some health.

Bottom Line

Other than an issue with the controls, Vermes on Mars provides a short, fun experience. Though it has tons of levels for you to play through, they will feel repetitive and you won’t find yourself playing it for hours. Since it costs just $0.99, it’s a good game if you have a few minutes to spare, but if you’re the kind of gamer who sits and plays games for hours, this game isn’t for you. Bottom line: Vermes on Mars is a good game and a job well done.

Gameplay

1000 Heroz gives an extremely fun and engaging gameplay. You use your character, that ranges from prehistoric men to modern citizens and complete different courses/tracks by jumping over obstacles, and using other items as boosts such as bridges, swinging bridges, branches that launch you, wheels, cars, and such. If you beat the silver medal time, you unlock a relic, each unique for the character you just used. As an added bonus, each of your characters has its own name and description as well. You can also play with previously released characters!

Controls

The controls are very basic — use the two virtual buttons on the bottom left to move your character right and left, while button on the bottom right to make him jump.

Terror and War is a simple, fun, shoot ‘em up game where you fly your spaceship from a variety of four different types with different specifications and looks. Use the simple controls to move your spaceship around, take out enemies, dodge enemy fire and use equipped abilities. Gameplay

The gameplay of Terror and War is like those classic arcade games — fly your spaceship around the screen, dodging enemies and their projectiles. Your spaceship shoots automatically, but you have a shield to use and an ability that speeds up your projectile rate and makes it more powerful. These are limited and may be refilled by collecting power ups while flying your ship by flying through them. The red power up increases your ‘upgrade’ level and your power meter, whereas the blue power-up increases your shield bar. There are five game modes, each with a different intensity and four different spaceships with a different speed, shield and firepower and different looks. You are briefed on the mission before going out for war! There are seven awesome levels for you to play through and two big boss fights at the end of the levels.

Controls

Tap the screen and move your finger around to relatively move your spaceship! There are two virtual buttons on the bottom-left of the screen that can be used to activate the shield and increase the speed and power of your projectiles temporarily.

There are two bars on either sides on the top of the screen. The left one displays how much shield have left to protect you and the one on the right side shows how much power you have, that power is used to activate the ability that increases your fire intensity as well as the rate. Along with that, there’s an upgrade bar on the top that increases when you collect the red power-up. This upgrades your weapons, making them better during the game.

Graphics

The graphics area is where I think this game could use a bit more work on. Terror and War does not support the Retina Display and with tons of enemies, their projectiles, and background, it sometimes gets kind of difficult to see whats going on. So if the graphics are enhanced, Terror and War would be more than it already is!

Sound

The sounds in Terror and War are one of its main features! Terror and War has a robotic music while using the menus as well as a robotic voice when selecting difficulty, spaceship, and such. It also packs an awesome fast-paced track during gameplay with fun laser shooting sounds!

Cost

Terror and War costs only $0.99 which is a very good price for the awesome content and addictive gameplay the game provides!

Longevity

Terror and War is a pickup-n-play game and you can play it tons of times without actually getting bored due to its awesome gameplay, controls, power-ups and abilities.

Conclusion

Terror and War is an excellent, classic, shoot ‘em up game with good longevity and graphics that could use a bit of more work to make it better than it already is. Since it’s only $0.99, it’s a great buy! I recommend it to all who like to kill a few minutes on their iOS devices with pickup-n-play games.
