Today kicks off the first day of Collision Conference, a sister conference to the super popular Web Summit. Unlike Casual Connect or MacWorld, Collision Conference is strictly technology focused and there’s not a ton of apps or games here. That being said though, this time along we have brought our very own Josh Pasholk along to cover the event as well and for him to give his take on the conference.
Overall for day one it has been pretty exciting, yet overwhelming at the same time. With Collision being only a two day conference, it’s hard to jam everything into that short amount of time. At the moment we’ll do our best to have photos and updates throughout the day, however, you can expect most of the content to be after the conference hours or later on in the week.

Digital Dinosaur Games has recently announced the release of Dungeon Battles: Heroes of the Throne in Europe, now allowing European and Russian players to join North America, Latin America and Australia in the action. Dungeon Battles takes combat to a new level with features like fully-controllable battles, powerful heroes and 3D graphics using Apple’s Metal engine. In the Dungeon Battles: Heroes of the Throne, players control powerful heroes and minion armies. Players can also experience high-quality 3D graphics, build a formidable dungeon, fend off invaders, battle other players online and form alliances.
As of now there’s no official word on when the game will land on the United States App Store, however, we’ll keep a close eye on any further developments. It appears as if Dungeon Battles is being slowly rolled out to various countries so the developers can slowly gather feedback and stress-test their servers. That being said, if you live in any of the countries that it is available to download, we highly recommend you give the game a go.
Everywear Games, the dedicated smartwatch game development studio, have recently released their first fantasy adventure title – Runeblade –onto the Apple Watch. As a fully original smartwatch game, Runeblade mixes simple pick-up-and-play design with increasing complex gameplay. Set in a magical land, Runeblade places the player as the High Priestess of the War Mages who is in charge of stopping an ancient evil from destroying the world. Players must collect and upgrade an arsenal of weapons, armor, and spells to survive against their foes.
“April 2015 marks the beginning of smartwatch gaming. We’re thrilled to be at the forefront of Apple Watch game development with the release our first title, Runeblade,” said Aki Järvilehto, CEO of Everywear Games. “Our goal is to create the best smartwatch game experiences, and that’s meant designing specifically for the unique demands of smartwatch play from the start. It’s an exciting journey, and this is just the beginning.”
Runeblade is optimized to be easily played on the Apple Watch in quick 5 to 15 second bursts of action. Even though Runeblade is exclusive to the Apple Watch, it has an iPhone counterpart that allows players to access the Black Market for magic items or the Library for the lore behind the game.
Ubisoft, another one of our favorite App Store publishers, have announced that Trials Frontier has gotten its largest content update ever dubbed “Frostpocalypse” that’s available right now. Frostpocalypse introduces a new winter environment, sixteen new tracks, an all-new bike, two new characters as well as a new outfit.
During this month-long event, a new gameplay system will be unlocked every week. For the first week, players can help the Sun God collect items for his changing-season ritual by riding over kindling and completing other tasks. The competition continues in PvP mode with the new “Season of the Donkey” and ramps up with the new Blitz mode. From there, limited edition bike paint-jobs can also be earned by competing on the weekly Arctic Leaderboard. While this is just the main points of the update, we highly recommend current players update the game to see all the content.
As most comic fanatics know, Marvel‘s highly anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron movie is set to land in theaters this week on May 1st and Marvel Puzzle Quest is celebrating by allowing players to participate in a brand new in-game event titled “Avengers vs. Ultron”. The event is the first Boss Battle event in Marvel Puzzle Quest where players go to war against Ultron, the murderous android who was accidentally given sentience by the Avengers. This event is the first of two that lead up to the film launch — each will run for 2 and a half days where players will battle against Ultron for the chance to earn special prizes if they successfully complete the mission.
With the movie so close to release we highly recommend you either download the update, or first time players download the entire game for free. One thing to note though is that there are in-app purchases to unlock additional content, so be on the look out for that just in case. Continue reading this post ->
