Independent Australian developer, Christian Lee, will launch Draw Team later this month, the new social drawing party game that can be played on Apple TV. Making use of the technology of the iPad to integrate with Apple TV via AirPlay, Draw Team plays like a traditional board game minus the hassle.

“My friends and I have always been huge board game fans, and I saw the opportunity to bring real social interaction to an iOS game with the current Apple platforms,” says Christian. “I wanted to remind people of the true meaning of ‘social’, and create as much laughter as possible in the process.”

As one player draws a secretly revealed mystery word on the iPad, their drawing appears simultaneously on the television screen and other players guess the word to compete for points. Players can relive the fun by sharing amusing or remarkable drawings via email and social media platforms with friends not in the room.

The game will be free to download for a limited time and has a simple interface so is easy for children, families and groups of adults alike to pick up and play. Up to nine individuals can play at a time or for bigger parties numbers can go up to 40 in team play mode. In-app purchases of additional word packs tailored to skill level or special category such as “Difficult”, “Kids” and “Movies” enhance the experience.

Sharkfish Studios, an independent game development studio located in Finland, has announced the release of Wordmare — a word puzzle game for iOS. Wordmare offers a fresh view on word games with a focus on solving word associations. Each level starts with a visible word and with the help of hints it is up to you to solve the associated words. Solving words will reveal more associations and the aim is to locate and solve goal words or to complete 75 percent of the whole level to unlock the next one.

Tens of hours of gameplay include both smaller and larger levels with different themes. Some words have image or audio clues attached and if you get stuck you can use power-ups to reveal letters for unsolved words. Complete larger levels with no time limits or challenge yourself in shorter time attack levels.

The internationally operating multiplatform publisher, Immanitas Entertainment, has published an update for the action title Let’s Skate for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The free update contains the new multiplayer modes, which can be easily played via Nextpeer. In addition to classic PvP duels, even contests against multiple players can be played simultaneously. Immanitas Entertainment is giving away the free multiplayer update to players as a thank you for more than 40,000 downloads in the first week of release.

In Let’s Skate, the player steers through a total of 40 levels with his skateboard. Always on the run from the police, you have to ride with your board to the next skate shop as fast as possible to be able to finish the level. If the police catch up to you, the level is not finished. Extra points can be collected in the form of coins and later be exchanged for useful power-ups, like a speed bonus. Through an in-app purchase, you can unlock five further characters in addition to the five standard skaters.

Paramount Digital Entertainment and award-winning Phosphor Games Studio are bringing global apocalyptic panic to you in the newly announced World War Z game. Set to release on May 30, the game will launch on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad as well.

World War Z the film, revolves around ex-United Nations employee Gerry lane (Brad Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to decimate humanity itself. The film hits theaters worldwide on June 21.
