Turn off Your Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a great tool, but it’s also one that we often leave on when it’s not needed. Think of it as a light switch. Turn it off when you’re not using it. It only takes a few flicks to turn off and disabling it well help you extend your battery. You should also consider disabling WiFi when it’s not in use.

Go to Settings -> General to disable/enable your Bluetooth radio.

Use the Auto Lock

You can set the timer to auto lock your iPad when it’s not being used. Not only will this keep prying eyes from your tablet, the auto lock will put the iPad to sleep, turning off the screen and saving power. The screen is the largest drain on a device’s battery. You can adjust the lock timer in the settings. Choose something that will power down the iPad after a short amount of time, but not too soon as to interfere with regular use. I like two minutes.
