Bleacher Report Provides Team-Specific Sporting News
Anyone who has spent time watching sports networks, patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for the scrolling data displayed at the bottom of the screen to get to their sport of choice or impart the final score for the game played by their favorite team is no doubt intimately acquainted with a feeling of frustration. Wouldn’t it be nice to have access to instant updates for only the sports or teams that you’re interested in, rather than having to sit through news for every other sport to get the ones that matter to you? While you can certainly hop on your computer and do a Google search for the information you seek, or even stream live coverage via internet radio stations, these options won’t do you much good if you’re not at home. However, there are a number of apps that can put sporting news at your fingertips when you’re on the go.
Along those lines, Bleacher Report has created the Team Stream app for your favorite iDevices, and it aims to bring you instant updates concerning the sports or teams you’re interested in. You could still sign up for Twitter feeds to see what crazy things your favorite players are tweeting about, and you might also download team-specific apps (if available) to be apprised of game schedules and other pertinent team happenings. But this great app for sports lovers will let you select a variety of teams across a number of sports so that you can get notifications of news-worthy items as they break, delivered automatically to your mobile device.
And it’s easy to use. All you have to do is download the free app and start selecting the teams or leagues you’d like to follow (create your team streams), including both amateur and pro leagues (so you can get updates on the Detroit Red Wings or Denver Broncos as well as information about local teams that you follow). Bleacher Report then provides you with any news related to your selections, including stories gleaned from a variety of news networks and publications, websites and blogs, and even social networking outlets like Twitter and Facebook. In many cases you’ll be the first to receive this information, and thanks to the sharing features in the app you can forward exciting news, amusing stories, and breaking headlines to your family, friends, and other sports fans via email, Facebook, and Twitter.

And recent updates have made the app even better. In addition to getting up-to-the-minute reports for your favorite NFL, NBA, MLS, or NHL (or other sports) teams, you can now get push notifications for news on the Olympic Games, with information on updated rosters, injury reports, and of course, scores and standings for different events. While there are many apps out there that can offer sporting news, few can deliver the appeal of one-stop sports stores that Team Stream gives you. So if you’re looking for a more convenient way to follow the sports or teams you like without having to slog through the detritus of every other sport in creation, Bleacher Report’s Team Stream can give you the fast functionality and the breaking news you crave, whether you’re at home, at the office, or even attending a sporting event.
