Limo Service on Demand: There’s an App for That
Well, it’s official: there are apps for virtually (no pun intended) everything these days, from choosing the outfit you’ll wear each day, to managing an overwhelming to-do list, to planning a home renovation, to stemming the steady stream of junk mail that comes to your house. You can also use the wide world of apps to connect with friends, find (and rate) businesses, and even deposit checks and pay your bills, all on the go. In short, your everyday life can be completely managed via smartphone or tablet. Of course, there are plenty of things that you don’t do on a daily basis, like attending a special event. Are there apps for these occasions? There are, indeed. And if you happen to find yourself in need of a limo, stat, there is more than one option at your fingertips.
The best app by far is probably a freebie called Limos.com. Although it gets some competition from GroundLink, which operates in over a hundred countries and most U.S. cities, many users have complained that a bevy of potential hidden costs that you could get charged for (such as the cost of the limo driver to reach your destination — and that’s on top of the fee you would otherwise pay for the service). Uber is another option, but it only operates in a handful of cities and some have complained that they send “taxi-like” cars rather than actual limos, which is a let-down when you’re paying extra for the comfort and class that come with a limousine. So for the distinguishing traveler seeking a better way to ride at a moment’s notice, Limos.com is the app to use. But what makes it better than the rest?
For starters, Limos.com pre-screens service providers for you to ensure that you’re contracting with a reliable company. Further, they run in 80 countries to provide the international traveler with plenty of options. And they search the internet to find you the best possible prices on bookings at the time of your reservation (amongst their pre-approved vendors), often providing savings of 30-40% over direct bookings with the vendors themselves. Plus, the app is free, there are no fees charged to you by Limos.com for your booking (probably their vendors pay to join the service so that you can get the app for free), there are no minimum payments, and users are charged only the agreed upon fee (which will include the tip).
It couldn’t be easier to use. All you do is download the app, search for a booking (they generally require advance notice of 1-2 hours, depending on the location), check the prices and customer reviews, and choose the service that best suits your needs. Whether you’re looking for a Premier Limo Boston or Budapest, this app can make it easy to get the ride you need, with the leisure of a limo at less cost. Other services may claim to get you there in style, but the ride will definitely cost you more. So if you’re a frequent traveler, this is one free app you can’t afford to forego.
